Subject: Illegal acts of RTO’s and tax evasion by the fleet taxi operator Mumbai Gold Cabs, Smart Cabs, Mumbai Taxi Company, Easy cabs & Mega Cabs 

Respected Sir,

We would like to draw your attention on the illegal and tax evasion by the fleet taxi company with the corrupt practice of State Transport Department in the following manner and state had lost crores of rupees of tax.

1.      STA had issued three LOI to one person Mr. Arun Sabnis and his gang in which he had sold one company i.e. Mumbai taxi company to another director and rest two companies i.e. Mumbai Gold & Smart Cabs.  Provisional license were cancelled by STA after the long battle by our members.

2.       It is pertinent to note that the STA had issued the LOI/Provisional License even without fulfill a single condition of the fleet taxi scheme 2006. Moreover, STA had not taken Rs. 10.00 lacs from each company as performance guarantee.  Due to that the Government has lost Rs. 30.00 lacs for the illegal act of the Secretary, STA.  It is further pertinent to note that the provisional license was issued on the forge documents and address to the Smart Cabs Pvt. Ltd.

3.      We say that Mumbai Gold had cheated the Union Bank of India, Mulund West branch more than Rs. 8.00 crores on the name of poor permit holders.

4.      We say that, all the above mentioned companies i.e. Mumbai Gold Cabs Pvt. Ltd., Smart Cabs , Easy cabs, Mega cabs & Mumbai Taxi company had not paid any road tax, professional tax, vehicle passing, meter passing, RTO tax and BMC tax for the advertisement etc. 

5.      It is further pertinent to note that after the cancellation of the provisional license of above mentioned two companies. Few cabs are still running on road,  more than 125 cabs   are parking in the city of Mumbai particularly Vile Parle (E) area and the RTO western region is not ready to take any action to recover the tax of these companies.

6.      We say that Mr. Arun Sabnis & his gang is still operating from Ray Road area and he is indulged in sale / purchase or taxi permits but your State Transport Department knew all these facts and not ready to take any step against Mr. Arun Sabnis & his gang till date.

Hence, we request your good self to look into the matter personally and take immediate necessary legal action against above mentioned companies for tax evasion and the corrupt officers of the respective RTO who had not taken the NOC or the tax from the above mentioned companies at the time of registration of new vehicle or for the last four years and thereafter.

We hope you will understand the real harassment done by corrupt officials of the state transport department as well as private fleet operators to the Taxi permit Holders.
