Sub: HALLA BOL MOVEMENT against money lenders / Credit Co-operative Societies & Co-operative Banks for exploiting of Taximen at large.

Respected Sir,

We would like to draw your attention that end numbers of private financier’s /money lenders, credit co-operative societies and co-operative banks with the association of respective RTO’s and local police or other enforcement agencies are exploiting our taximen at large since long.

It is pertinent to note that they are taken signature from the taximen on the blank papers, blank hypothecation papers and vehicle transfer forms.  They had also taken the signature on more than 2-3 finance company files.

It is further pertinent note that they are not ready to provide any copy of the papers or agreements to taximen.  In this system so many brokers are involved.  It is further pertinent to note that money lenders are taking any amount from the taximen on the name of file / service charges etc.

We are also informing you that they are not ready to provide the proper receipts of the installment and pass book to the taximen. We further say that, the money lenders are not ready to inform the exact loan amount, rate of interest and also not ready to furnish their licenses issued by respective authorities and enforcement agencies.

It is further pertinent to note that the money lenders had taken the possession of registration book of the taxi vehicle so that they may change ownership and hypothecation of the vehicle at any time with the corrupt practice of respective RTO officials.

We further like to inform you that two big Union of taxi i.e. Mumbai Taxi Union and Mumbai Taxi Association are also the part of the money lenders.  Moreover, they are also doing the same business and the vehicle had already been hypothecated on the name of said union / association. 

It is further pertinent note that the Mumbai Taxi Union is also exploiting the taximen because they had compelled to the taximen to purchase share certificate of New India Bank Limited so that they can use them for their own motives.  It is further pertinent to note that the union is also not ready to handover the original share certificate of the said bank to the taximen.

Under the above mentioned facts and circumstances, it proves that there is a big mafia of money lenders are working in the financial capital of India along with Mumbai Taxi Union and Mumbai taxi Association and other respective officials / enforcement agencies.

Hence, our Mumbai Taximen Sangathan had decided to lodge “HALLA BOL MOVEMENT” against the money lenders and our Sangathan will start a huge protest before the Gurunanak Market at Dadar East on 4/5/2011 at 12.00 PM in which end number of  taximen are going to raise their voice against the illegal acts of the money lenders who are operating from the premises of the Holy Gurudwara.

We would like to clear that the taximen are very angry and if they are violent then the entire responsibility will be with the State Government because they are failed to take any action against the money lenders, which please note.
