Subject: Advertisement on the Black and Yellow taxis as per the permission granted to Fleet Taxi and Phone Fleet Taxi Services.

Sir,

We would like to draw your attention on the right of equality to the taximen in Mumbai City as shrine in the constitution of India but the State Transport Department is not ready to act and doing discrimination among the taximen and the Fleet Taxi and Phone Fleet Taxi Services providers.

We would further like to draw your attention that when the State Transport Department allow the Fleet Taxi and Phone Fleet Taxi operators to advertise on the four doors, taxi top, taxi boot, half back glass and other area but the State Transport Department allow only two doors and the taxi top to the black and yellow and cool cab, which is against the right of equality of the taximen.

We also like to draw your attention that the State Transport Department made rules only for the poor taximen who drive the black and yellow and cool cab like to paste non-smoking sign, to put permit no on the cab, and put carrier but no such rules are implemented on the Fleet Taxi and Phone Fleet Taxi operators.

Under the above mentioned facts and circumstances, we request you to please grant a permission to the taximen, who drive the black and yellow and cool cab to advertise on the same space as used by the Fleet Taxi and Phone Fleet Taxi operators within a 2 months from the receipt of this notice, failing which we have no option but to  approach the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay at your risk and cost, which you please note.

Thanking you,

Yours Faithfully,
For Mumbai Taximen Sangathan

Sanjay Khemka
General Secretary
