Members of Mumbai
Taximen's Union will stage a protest march tomorrow in front of Trade Union
registrar's office, at Kamgar Bhavan in the Bandra-Kurla Complex to demand
intervention into alleged illegal trade union practices of its General
Secretary A L Quadros.
Its member Jaishree
Singh and others stated in a open letter that the registrar of trade unions
should take necessary action against Quadros for not conducting free and fair
election of the Union.
The members have
also demanded that Mr. Quadros should furnish details of five
companies--Taximen Service Limited, Taximen Enterprises, Taximen Finance and
Lease limited, Taximen Welfare Society limited and Airport Taximen Welfare
trust.
The members wanted
to know whether companies, floated in the name of Taximen, are individual
companies of Mr. Quadros or belonging to Taximen.
After tomorrow's
protest march, further course of action would be decided, Singh added.
